AARP representatives will be presenting an AARP Driver Safety Refresher Course on March 27 from 1-5pm. This 4 hour refresher course is aimed towards any 50+ persons who have taken the 2-day Driver Safety Course within the past 2 years. Walk-ins are welcome!

By taking a driver refresher course you’ll learn the current rules of the road, defense driving techniques and how to operate your vehicles more safely in today’s increasing challenging driving environment. You’ll learn how you can manage and accommodate common age related-related changes in vision, hearing, and reaction time. In addition, you’ll learn: Research-based safety strategies that can reduce the likelihood of having crash; proper use of seat-belts, air bags, anti-lock brakes and new technology found in cars today; ways to monitor your own and others’ driving skills and capabilities; the effects of medication on driving; and the importance of eliminating distractions, such as eating, smoking and using a cell phone.
After completing the course, you’ll have a greater appreciation of driving challenges and a better understanding of how to avoid potential collisions and injuring yourself or others. The AARP Driver Safety refresher course has helped millions of drivers sharpen their skills and drive safely on today’s roads.
The full 2-day course will be offered in August for any interested parties.
